In helping a friend celebrate her birthday, Al's proved to be the perfect gift. I could have made a meal on the special appetizer consisting of a bit of barbecue, shrimp and toasted ravioli but room had to be left for the cold, crisp salad, perfectly done and savory filet, zesty Al's potatoes and asparagus with a rich, creamy hollandaise sauce to die for. Cream cheese butter was an added treat for the fresh bread and all topped by a most pleasant margaux and French vanilla ice cream for dessert. The waiter was, for the most part, excellent. The only negative was that a promised sorbet before the main course failed to appear because of a flop in the kitchen. My friend, who had an equally wond...

This hidden gem is amazing. The location would deter any foot traffic. But if you do make the trip, you will be rewarded. The sauce for the cannelloni was rich and complex. I ordered the fillet oscar, the sautéed mushrooms, and Al's pasta. The fillet was cooked perfectly rare. The Oscar sauce had a different flavor every time I tasted it with the fillet, the lobster, or the mushrooms. Al's pasta sauce was creamy and had a very deep peppery flavor for which I would love to find the recipe. They only serve ten people a night so you a guaranteed a quiet intimate evening. The maître d', Paul Neal, regaled us with great stories of the restaurant's history. Al's is place that if you know you go.

Place has not been updated in a very long time. 3 tables on a Saturday night does not provide a great dining experience. Neighborhood is run down and so is building. Food was good but hardly worth the price tag. Maybe 40 years ago it was a hot spot, but definitely not now.

I can't believe we didn't know about Al's for all these years. This history, atmosphere, and food is just amazing. Luckily for us, we got to sit at the Frank Sinatra table the table that Frank always sat at when he was in town and visiting his friend Al. Reserva una mesa ahora

Everything is just amazing. Great steaks, baked potato is enormous and really good We normally never have dessert but tried the chocolate/pistachio ice cream concoction. It was superb Perfect evening as always.

Save your money and go elsewhere. Located in shady area. Filet was cooked rare. Ordered medium. Al's potatoes and asparagus were bad. The Caesar salad was good. Shrimp was ok. I will never eat there again.

Dinner was fabulous. Like stepping back in time to an era where service was king.
