We recently dined at Altar House for the first time, and we were truly impressed. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the service was outstanding. The food was delicious, and the portion sizes exceeded our expectations. The preparation and aromas of the dishes we tried, including steak and short ribs, were fantastic! We were especially impressed by the charcuterie board. Many restaurants claim to have charcuterie boards, but this one truly delivers! It was well put together with a wonderful variety. We can't wait to return!
We ate outdoors and loved it. Dining with my wife outdoors on a sunny day with nothing else left on the schedule for the day makes any restaurant a little bit better, but we enjoyed the food, the waitress, the hostess and the rest of the staff that came to visit us (but really our golden retriever, Charlie, who was in the car 10 feet from our outdoor table). Don't misunderstand, though! The outdoor area was quite welcoming, not like simply sitting in a parking lot! But we managed to park so Charlie was close.
Went here for my birthday. The food was out of this world. My husband's pork chop was the best he has ever eaten. The service was impeccable. The drinks were so creative and perfect for January. This was my second time dining here. Each time was different and exciting. The farm to table experience is one of the better ones I have had. We love this restaurant so much we gave Gift Certificates as gifts. We will continue to give them as gifts and we will definitely be going back again and again.
We love dining at this restaurant! They use high-quality ingredients, often sourced locally, and truly excel at creating delicious dishes. Plus, their drinks are consistently fresh and delightful! During our recent visit, we savored a pork chop, vegan pizza, juicy burgers, truffle fries, and crab/mountain fries. Alter House is our favorite place to dine. Everything about it—food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere—deserves a five-star rating. Tracy, the bartender, is a true mixology artist; she creates the most incredible signature and dessert cocktails. The s’mores martini is a standout, topped with a toasted marshmallow. Visit Alter House; you won't be disappointed, and you'll definitely want to return!
Four of us went for a family birthday. The decor was lovely, the staff was kind and helpful, and the food was amazing. We had the pork chop which was outstanding, a hamburger with HOT chili peppers on it, a pasta dish and strip steak. All wonderful. I also have to give credit to the bartender I had a charred orange old fashioned which I loved. And I hate old fashioneds
Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. The only dish I didn't love was the fries with crab and bride. The crab was simply exaggerated and not added to the dish. However, the steak was perfectly prepared and desserts were amazing. We will definitely come back.
