Our last dinner on a Spring, 2016 three week visit. A new name, highly recommended by sources with mixed records.A non-descript one block street close to the Bastille Opera, a convenient location. One look inside through the window, and our expectations sank. Bright. Charmless. Ten tables and a service bar in an L-shaped room. Plain tables. No linens. A single Asian waiter. In our section of the room, table of four Asians and an older Asian couple next to us. Are we in a Chinese restaurant? The unsmiling waiter drops the menus. Then it all changed. The waiter began to respond. Formerly at 3-Star Guy Savoy. The long a la carte menu (with a low priced formula section too) reflects simple, but...

I had dinner there with a friend for the first time and it will not the the last time ! The restaurant is in a little street close to the Bastille Opera, however unless you know where you are going you will not find it as it is out of the beaten path.Service is friendly and the food excellent. However, it's a typical French Bistrot very much oriented with offal which I love (they also have meat but only one course with fish. Therefore if you are a fish or seafood person, it's not your place). Actually for dinner I took 3 starters: a veal tongue which was so so delicious.... I could hardly believe it was tongue, I had the impression it was a thin slice of veal or ham.I had after a crispy bone...
It is really satisfying to find that this supremely talented chef found the right setting for his cooking. This small bistro has a lovely atmosphere and terrific service, both missing from his last place. Christophe's cooking is very direct and bold; he has a knack for bringing out the sine qua non of his ingredients, like a Challans duck cooked sous vide then crisped or a lentil soup that is intense yet not too dense, and garnished with pork cracklings. The wine service is knowledgeable and friendly, they even let us taste something before buying a bottle. $250 for three people all in, including two bottles of wine, is great value for this quality.
A little more expensive than some bistro style restaurants. Really nice atmosphere and a very interesting menu - make sure you know your French or have translation potential (google etc). The food was excellent and served by the waiter and sometimes the chef.Waiter was super friendly - when our chosen wine wasn't available he gave us a bottle 10 Euros more expensive for the same price - a nice touch! This place has lovely comfortable seating - not that common in Paris! it was a great experience and great food. i didnt reserve before going there. i sat on the bar but that was ab experience by itself. food is great. friendly waiter. unique experience. could even have a mousse au chocolat.(i was full). typical french food. try it.
We have followed our bliss to the chef's imaginative servings up of new takes on classics. Unusual delightful stuffed cabbage. Incredible lamb. Austere table - almost feels like a cafeteria, but the people are friendly and the food is stunning.
Came hear from an after dinner dessert after hearing a lot about the chocolate mousse, my french sense of exploration of the best dessert in town has found its day, and it was by far the best i ever had. Will be coming back to...More
Simple delicious food at a quiet neighborhood corner. Great escargot salad appetizer and the duck breast was cooked perfectly. A bit too greasy for my taste. Would be nice to be on a more healthy side. Reserva una mesa ahora
Not one given to hyperboles, but that was the best duck I've ever eaten. The service was knowledgeable and fun, the wine recommendation was excellent, but that duck I will remember for a long time.
No foams, no powders, no gels. Just really good bistro food and smiles all around. Highly recommended!
