GREAT FOOD When I turned up at this place I didn't hold out much hope. In the most popular tourist spot, with tables overlooking the lake I felt sure I was about to experience the tourist trap rip off. But with three kids and two adults all hungry and not many other choices for a mile or so I got on with it How pleased I was so wrong. The food was excellent, I mean really really good, fried to order, fresh, tasty and good value. The fish was the size of a small whale, the batter crisp and not too greasy lots of chips. Best fish and chips I've had in ages and ages. Pleasant surroundings, fantastics view and great food. Would do a again at the drop of a hat. Lovely. Thanks very much.
The restaurant is situated near the lake which is great. They don’t have sit down, you receive the order in a take away container and then you could sit down. The fish itself was really good it’s fresh haddock. However, I feel like you should not pay for ketchup or sauce when you pay for a dish. So that was disappointing, you can purchase a small tomato sauce. Also they don’t have any toilets so you have to go somewhere else and the public ones you have to pay to enter.
Got off the ferry at Ambleside needing to have lunch. To find this shop right outside the pier was a bonus. All the food is freshly cooked. The prices were very reasonable and the staff were polite and courteous. There was a slight wait for the food, but they were extremely busy at the time of our visit. The food was brilliant, so if you are in the area this place should seriously be considered.
Lovely fish and chips cooked to order. Very hot and freshly cooked. We had the small portions and was plenty to eat, served outside on the patio under umbrellas with pretty fairy lights on. Definitely recommend as have been before and was impressed by the quality and service.

The small portion of fish and chips were lovely. All freshly cooked and very hot. Sat outside on a beautiful evening. The portion size was just right for me and a very popular place. Have been before and highly recommend it
We weren't intending having F C but the nearby pub was not serving food so it was a bit of a last resort!! So glad we ate here the food was really nice and the service was good despite it being soooooo busy!! Worth a visit.
Fantastic service and food! Man at the counter was very helpful and gave top class service. Fish and chips fried in vegetable oil with no beer batter so muslim/halal friendly! (Which is rare) Beautiful view whilst eating.
We visited today and thought the fish and chips were excellent. They also use gluten free batter so we had no problems getting a meal for our coeliac daughter. Would happily return next time we were in the area.

We love a good fish and chips. The service is great. The fish is fresh and chips good baked in clean oil. Portions are large and satisfying. Beautiful views of the lake and surrounding area of the pier.
