I've been to Stars and Stripes 3 times because it was a group outing. I wouldn't choose to go there on my own. The food is extremely overpriced for the quality they deliver. I ate these on three different occasions: 1. an Irish Whisky Burger it was served lukewarm and dry, it wasn't very tasty just a dry, lukewarm burger. 2. spare ribs were also served lukewarm (I hate lukewarm food, especially when dining outside), were hard, it was difficult to divide the bone from the meat, just meh, 3. loaded fries this was the worst dish I had there, very soggy fries, tasted like old fries warmed up in a microwave so that the cheese melts and they get warm, disgusting. I would've given 1 star but the Sundae they serve is really good.
There have been a few times, I 've been to Stars and Stripes during my previous job mostly for team outings. Stars and Stripes does ok burgers, but I wouldn 't rank it among the best places to go an eat in town, and the place does seem to be less busy since Stickerei (another burger place) opened up on the same road less than 100 m away. Will I go there again as part of a group that already decided to go there yes. Is it a place I ever get a hankering for on my own or out with my wife no.
Not surprisingly this is the place for burgers, ribs and tex-mex, but also for curries, cocktails and much more. Nice outside dining area in the summer. While the service is usually OK, we were however often somewhat disappointed by food that was only average in relation to its price. For lunch specials it is quite OK.
Worst place to eat a burger in St Gallen. The burgers are way too expensive compared to the quality, which is medium to low. As it is an American restaurant I was expecting good burgers, but I was highly deceived. The burgers are very basic and the price is very high. Would not recommend at all.
