This place is an adorable gem right in Sayville! The interior is very clean and has a rustic charm to it without seeming old or out of place. They have many little wares (cheese related, of course) and so many different cheeses to choose from! The sit down part of American Cheese is my favorite. The staff is attentive and very friendly they've helped give suggestions. They have a little bar area, though I've never sat there before, where you can drink some of the wines or other drinks they have to offer. The fondue is fantastic, I usually get the Traditional Swiss fondue, which is out of this world. It comes with bread, potatoes, carrots, or apples to dip in there, which are perfect complime...
I've taken advantage of everything American Cheese has to offer from their delicious lunch paninis, to their seasonal fondues, small plates and specials, recommended and custom cheese platters, homemade pickles, holiday menus, stocking up on cheese and accessories to go... I'm pretty sure I've gotten at least 8 different people gift cards to try it because I knew they would love it and it never disappoints! The owner and her team are a fun bunch. This place is delicious. We had a variety of food the swias fondue with seasonal accompaniments (for us this meant roasted potatoes, apples, and carrots), the bacon wrapped dates (OMG were these heavenly), the American Onion Soup (probably the best French Onion Soup I've ever tasted in my entire life), and finally: the pork tacos. I don't have words to describe the pork tacos, they were that good. The pork was tender and flavorful, it was topped with cheese and pickled cabbage that just created this flavor that I never knew I needed in my life. TL;DR: So many flavors. Amazing food. We can't wait to go back.
The cheeses are so much more flavorful than any I have tried before. You could have the cheese as is or have grilled cheese. There are other menu items and drinks available as well. The seating area is attractive and clean. One of the owners explained all about the cheeses. He was very patient and informative, telling me several times he was happy to answer more questions. I am rating this shop/restaurant 5 stars for food and service.

My new favorite place for small plates! This place has a very cool vibe, the staff are so accommodating and down to earth. Attended a party last weekend there and had the pleasure of trying several items. Buttermilk fried chicken slider is a must. I can't stop raving about it. Pulled chicken tacos were just as yummy. I could go on. Just try it. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to go back!
Just discovered this little gem of a restaurant right down the block from where I am twice a week. Waitress was bubbly terrific.. she was able to help us pick out cheese platter boy, was she right on target! Loveeeed it to top it off gluten-free crackers! I will definitely be visiting this place again in the near future! Thanks for such an unexpected find!
Excellent little gem right near the Sayville train station. Nice selection of wine and craft beer. Homemade finger foods to die for. (Bacon wrapped dates! . Owner and staff could not be more friendly and accommodating. Reccomend!
Great little cheese shop. Nicely decorated. Pleasant staff. Wine, Bellinis and beer. They have a small food menu which include cheese and meat trays, salads, soups, and paninis. One of my go to places for take away cheese trays.

Had takeout due to the virus thing. First time ordering from here. Chicken wings were very good. Not wet, enough spice. The Cuban was delicious. The Flat Bread was also very good.
Took my mom here for her birthday and was so happily surprised! The traditional Swiss fondue was amazing and could have easily fed 4 ppl. Will definitely be back!
