The food was good but the server made a critical mistake on my order. I expressly pointed on the menu to the regular version of the meal I wanted; she told me that there's an early bird version of it with half the amount. I said that I know, but that I want the full dinner. I was brought the smaller amount, and when I said something to her, she said she misheard. She made me feel as if she may get in trouble if she went to change it, so I told her it was okay. I ate it all but left without being full. We went here today for a combined birthday for me and my friend. She chose the place because she already knew it was good. My husband and I had never been. I’m always very skeptical of Italian food since I’ve lived here since I’m from NJ and I’m Italian. I ordered chicken parmigiana and omg was it fabulous. This was the best Italian food I’ve had since I left NJ 24 years ago! Tiramisu was on point also! The only disappointment was no creamer for the coffee. How does a place like this not have coffee creamer? I wish the waitress had told me beforehand as I wouldn’t have ordered it. Beside that, everything was amazing.
This is a fantastic restaurant! We've been living here for five years and had no idea it existed until now. It’s a straightforward Italian eatery that focuses on the classics without any unnecessary frills. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is both professional and well-informed, and the prices are very reasonable. Each dish was expertly prepared and beautifully presented. They also offer drink refills (non-alcoholic) without us having to ask. Someone is always around to ensure we’re taken care of without being intrusive. This will be our go-to Italian spot in Memphis unless we discover something better!
It 's rare for me to give a 5 star rating. They deserve it. If you want a fine dining experience, quiet atmosphere, great food, and friendly patrons, this is your go to Italian restaurant. I 've been here twice. Each time the food is so good, it 'll make your eyes roll, and you 'll say, Oh my God . I 'll be back. Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled Parking is very limited and always full.

The hostess made sure to seat all the African-American guests toward the back. I thought it was a coincidence until one group left, and the hostess brought another African-American group to the same area. The place was not crowded, and other Caucasian groups were seated in different areas. The food was not that good either, but the waitress, who was also African-American, was nice.
I had a wonderful meal, and James was incredibly nice and attentive. My only issue was the timing of our salads and entrees; we had just begun our salads when the entrees were brought out. Aside from that, it was a lovely evening.
James has provided our family with outstanding service on numerous occasions. The white tablecloths and atmosphere offer a classic Memphis vibe with a touch of New York elegance. It's a fantastic local spot with delicious food.
Every time I 've chosen Amerigo 's it 's been a good choice. The phrases 'class act ' and 'top notch ' come to mind. I 'm already trying to decide when I can eat there again.
