The food at this place was delicious. I've never eaten at an airport cafe so I was surprised to find a variety of tempting choices at this type of location. My friend ordered a chile relleno omelette with chile verde on top and home fries and I had the the pancakes with eggs, bacon and sausage. I sampled my friends chile verde and though it had a good flavor the chile needed salt. The home fries were delicious and complimented the omelette nicely. We visited the El Monte Airport for lunch, and the weather was absolutely lovely. From there, you can enjoy views of Mt. Wilson and the surrounding TV towers. The restaurant is conveniently located within the airport, and it was very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly, and you have the option to dine indoors or outdoors. We enjoyed watching the little planes either parked or preparing for takeoff, and there were also two helicopters in view. It was fascinating to see the planes land and take off. On nice days, the restaurant opens up completely, blending the patio with the interior, creating a lively atmosphere. While the food is quite good, it's the ambiance that really draws people in. Food was great! Large portions. I had the avocado omelet. It came with hasbrowns and toast. Other family had biscuits and gravy, chorizo and eggs, and pancake breakfast. Everyone was very happy with their food and the staff was all wonderful and attentive.
I absolutely love this place! It was an incredible experience dining while watching the planes take off. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it and will definitely be coming back very soon!
