Antica Osteria Il Malatesta

A wonderful place full of history! From many suggestions of the hotel, we chose this restaurant for dinner and I strongly recommend you to do the same. I had a table with a superb ceramic top, subtle view of the lake, with a lot of green surroundings, perfect and cozy! The bread basket and the appetizer on the side made a good pair with a Franciacorta. Aperitif, calamari with pistachio cream with mint, olives and burrata was amazing! As a main course, I chose an antricot from Piemonte, along with a Nebbiolo. Very tasty, just the meat was medium+ although I asked medium-rare, next with potatoes and onions hay, was delicious!Quality food and time!

Overall rather average. Service was ok, but generally a lot of mistakes were made. Friendly, but that's about it. For the Price we paid, I could easily get much better in Zurich never mind going over to Italy...Food itself. Some was good, but Overall lacked seasoning in most cases, and also for me a major issue was being served an unrested Steak, ie within 2 minutes blood all over the plate. Meat itself was also average.In all honesty, for the things that went wrong, most Restaurants would have comped something. And for a bill of CHF 550 for 4 People, would expect more.

A place to rediscover, a well-presented menu with local products and delicious combinations. To go back Vegetarian options: There are and they are not the stopgap to meat and fish. Parking: On the lakefront or in the street by the railway, finding parking is not difficult, walking at most 5' shouldn't be a problem. Service: Dine in

It was a great surprise to discover this authentic place. I'm Italian and this was a great place to eat a Italian food in Switzerland. I gave 5 stars also because of the impeccable service. Truly recommend it if you are in Locarno!

Sehr schmackhafte Küche, schön präsentiert. Die Karte ist klein, aber interessant. Freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung. Liegt etwas versteckt, abseits der Touristenfallen, ca. fünf Minuten vom Bahnhof. Absolut empfehlenswert.
