I had requested through opentable that we had one of the private dining rooms with the low table for the novelty factor for the children. When we arrived, it was news to them and they hurriedly arranged it after asking permission feom someone, so if the place had been busy we would not have had the requested room. The private room needed a deep deep clean. The cushions to sit on were dirty so much so my young children noticed. It felt very grimy and really let the experience down. I recently had dinner at Aoshima for the first time in a long time and was pleased to find that it is just as good as I remembered. I used to frequent this restaurant when I lived nearby, and even though I moved away a few years ago, I have always missed dining here. The food is fantastic - fresh and flavorful. I ordered ebi tempura and duck gyoza, both of which were some of the best I have ever had. The prawns in the tempura were perfectly cooked, with a crispy and light batter that was deliciously sweet. I have been here a few times and keep coming back as the food is lovely and great value. We normally get a few of the sushi dishes to share but we I have been with a few friends who didn't eat sushi and their terriyaki dishes went down a treat too. It has never been too busy so we haven't needed to book a table, staff are very friendly and atmosphere is nice and relaxed so you never feel rushed to leave.

We decided to visit Aoshima for the first time despite it being only five minutes from our house. Why did we wait so long? Everything was excellent including the attitude of the young woman who took our order. The atmosphere was relaxed, the food was precise and even our sleepy grandson was impressed. A rapid return is anticipated.
I would highly recommend Aoshima. The food was simply delicious. The fish was fresh, the prawns were the best I've had in a long time. My son went for the sushi and can't wait to go back for more. We had a very pleasant evening were very happy with the service value. We'll definitely be back. A. Dean
Had to keep asking them for our drinks food they forgot about us took ages to order 20 mins waiting for drinks an hour waiting for food then they forgot one of our meals did not seem to care
As always 10/10 insane quality of food and service is amazing food always comes out so quick.
