I loved the atmosphere of this restaurant, which was very old-fashioned rustic southern charm. The iced friendship tea was delicious and mini bran muffins were cute. Our server was nice. Unfortunately, the food was comically overpriced and left much to be desired. I came with a group and ordered the tea room medley, which came to almost $14 before tax and tip. I also tried the bravo beef and gravy (with the turkey option instead of beef) and tea room club, which my friends had. None of us were impressed with any of the dishes. The tea room medley was a plate almost half full of ruffle potato chips typical of a grocery store's, with a scoop of plain chicken salad and banana bread finger sandw...
I was genuinely impressed by how well-executed the simple food concepts were at this restaurant. I tried the roast beef and cheddar croissant sandwich, and it was a generous portion of moist roast beef paired with plenty of flavorful cheddar—absolutely hit the spot! The apple cake was delightful, reminiscent of an apple cinnamon coffee cake packed with nuts. I highly recommend enjoying it with their spiced tea. However, I should mention that the spiced tea tastes more like mulled cider—spiced and almost as sweet as apple cider—rather than a traditional spiced tea. The atmosphere was all southern granny charm, delightfully done to those who like this cosy style. It set expectations for a home cooked meal that fell so far short, it's hard to imagine giving this place a second chance. Service was adequate but nothing exceptional. It was probably the worst BLT I've ever had! It was overcooked, nearly tasteless, with dry bacon on the smallest store-bought wheat bread, thin and also overly dry. A big pile of store-bought potato chips accompanied it, also very disappointing. My dining companion was equally disappointed in her meal. We won't be back any time soon.
