Located in the heart of Havertown right off of Darby road, Sophie's BBQ provides a quiet location to enjoy staple BBQ cuisine with a creative twist. My girlfriend and I started with the hand cut fries tossed in their homemade cheese sauce, and an order of the brussels sprouts. Fries were crispy and seasoned well, and we both agreed that the brussels sprouts were a must-order. Pickled jalapeños and candied bacon brings to life what can otherwise be a relatively bland dish. Love the new Sophie's BBQ Four Birds Distilling location in Havertown! I was a long time fan of their old location in Ardmore even when you couldn't order drinks then. The food is still excellent had their smoked crispy duck and coleslaw the other night, plus their smoked wings. The duck was sweet, juicy, and smokey and the slaw paired well to cut the sweetness. The wings were also good and could be easily pulled apart to dip in their variety of sauces. The new cocktails were delicious! My friend and I tried their Old Fashioneds and Mint Juleps if you like those drinks, you'll love theirs. Four Bird's craft bottles and canned drinks can be bought on site. It 's great. It 's not Omg best BBQ I 've ever had!!! great but if you are in the mood for some absolutely solid BBQ, there is no reason not to go here. And it 's not good it 's great. Brisket cheesesteak was really well balanced and flavorful smoky brisket, just enough sweet caramelized onions, and just the right amount of cooper sharp, all on a nice soft bun. Wish it were a little bigger, but when you go up in quality you 'll of course go down in quantity, so this isn 't really a fair complaint. Hush puppies were probably good, but just not my thing. BBQ beans were excellent, and the collard greens had a nice kick to them.
Tried Sophie's last week at their new Havertown location. Everything was absolutely amazing. Best cornbread I've had in a long time, the butter was incredible. The brisket and ribs melt in your mouth. Loved the collard greens, had a little kick to them which was nice. Our six year old daughter couldn't stop eating! Cocktails from Four Birds are always awesome. I had the old fashioned and my wife had the Watermelon spritz. Service was a 10, just as it was in Ardmore. Look like it's going to be fun when the warm weather comes as they have a decent amount of outdoor seating. Support this place, I know we'll be there often!

My wife and I were glad to hear Sophie's was partnering with Four Birds Distillery in our neighborhood. We went last night for the first time and it didn't disappoint. We started with the blueberry smash and old fashioned, both solid choices and the pale ale (hazy but not fruity). We split hush puppies that came with butter and honey (having the leftovers with breakfast was a plus). The brisket was very tender, ribs were perfect consistency of fall off the bone tenderness but still hanging on, and the beans had a little kick. Nice staff. Looking forward to adding this spot to our local rotation.
Really good bbq place!! Came here for dinner. Was able to make a reservation online. We ordered a shareable of the sweet potato hush puppies. Holy cow. Biggest hush puppies ever! These things are giant. My daughter and I shared the bbq platter. We got the chicken. It was delicious. Very tender. The cornbread that came with it was so good! Our two sides were baked beans and mac and cheese. Daughter loved the mac and cheese. I didn't love the baked beans. I would not get those again. Overall a great experience. I would come here again.
We got delivery on Friday and I ordered the duck!! OMG!!! I have not had good duck like that in over 25 years!! I was in heaven!! We did miss the mac and cheese with bacon. The reg mac cheese is good, but the one with bacon was out of this world!! We did notice that the corn bread was improved as well. Thanks!! I wish I could give them 100 stars! Food so good it is too good to share with my dogs!! The staff is wonderful as well!
Recently attended a friend's 60th that catered out from Sophie's and the chicken may have been the best I've ever had. The cole slaw was spicy and different in a good way. I'm looking forward to revisiting to try other items.

Cute little spot. Very cozy. Food was delicious and service was excellent. Definitely recommend you to stop by. Reservations recommended- they are busy for dinner.
Incredible food here! The sweet potato hush puppies are absolutely amazing! Will return when I'm back in the Philly area.
