Welcoming if overworked staff. and the desserts were good. However of our main courses the Cambodian salad was a dreadful mush and I doubt if the fillet steak sandwich was actually of FILLET steak it didn't taste like it. The ambience was good the Arkley is a nice pub./restaurant, however that itself breeds an expectation of excellence which only makes the disappointment worse when the food is so bad.
We had a lovely evening at the Arkley. We tried two different flavoured gins which were really nice. The food was good and the staff paid special attention to a member of our group who has a nut allergy, apart from when they served her coffee with an almond biscuit but they quickly took it away. All in all, good food, good service and a pleasant atmosphere.
The restaurant was very busy, but the service was still good. The food was also very good. The only downside was the lack of parking. I have been there twice in the past three weeks and both times the car park was full, which was a bit annoying. Other than that, everything was great.
