We were invited to a "Thai Curry night" which was fully attended, the starter arrived, low and behold it was carrot soup, remembering that the temperature had been, during the day 30 degrees and at 7.30pm it was still 28 degrees, carrot soup (hot) was not really required and it certainly was not Thai, (if it had coriander in it that would have possibly been acceptable). The main course arrived, Green Thai chicken curry with rice, unfortunately there was not much Thai taste to the curry and the rice was not "Fragrant Rice" just plain boiled, I heard one lady say to the owner that it was not hot (spicy) to which she replied, "Thai is aromatic not hot" certainly would agree with 50% of that sta...
This is unique, under new owners, what has happened. the cafe side runs as it did, but one huge change has taken place. On a Friday night, a fish & chip van is parked very near and low and behold you can order your fish and chips and eat them in the cafe or outside, if the weather allows, drinks are available in the cafe, so we had a great evening, fish and chips were excellent, proper chips, (hand cut) non of the stupid French Fries!! once eaten you can then take part in a pud, whatever is on, I had B & B with, wait for it Devonshire Clotted Cream, yes it was first class, all in all a very, very pleasant evening, great hosts, great people with the Fish & Chip van (Franson's Fish & Chips, th...
Now under new ownership. Sandra offers teas, coffees and homemade cakes, scones in a nice atmosphere. Friday nights are fun with a local mobile fish and chip van outside the front door. Sandra's external and internal tables are full of a variety of nationalities enjoying their take always, with drinks and bread and butter from the tea rooms.
We went into the salon du the for a brew and almost came out with a house!! Once Clare realised what we were looking for she got the local estate agent she went and brought her into the shop and left us to discuss our wants and needs. Really useful information, as well, about the local area.

Had an absolutely stunning afternoon, sat on the terrace in sunshine...what a great way to celebrate nans birthday. Sandwiches, cakes, tea and more than we could finish ! Lovely people, great service..really went the extra mile ...DEFINITELY going again !!!!
The little place is extremely warm and you are always received with a welcoming smile. The varieties of different flavoured teas are a delight. The home baked cakes are delicious.
Afternoon tea, to Indian nights, small but very welcoming, always happy to see you, small menu but very nice and varied, curry nights to go for and service always with a smile.
