My girlfriend and I were walking the Camino and wanted to rest well, so we decided to stay at a private Albergue instead of the donativo nearby. The woman who I presume is the owner was nice and told some girl to lead us to the room. Till this point we were rather happy. Until the girl came and took us to the room. She said nearly nothing and has had this aura of my life is bad and you are to blame . She showed us to our room, which was rather okay. Two very comfortable bed with clean sheets. Towels were provided as well. We walked around town and eventually decided to eat at the Pitis restaurant. Recientemente descubrí este restaurante cuando tuve que ir allí para recoger la llave del alojamiento que los propietarios ofrecían en un bloque de apartamentos cercano. Decidí quedarme a almorzar y tuve una excelente comida de peregrino: una deliciosa ensalada con huevo, espárragos y aceitunas, pescado recién cocinado con papas fritas y helado, todo por un precio razonable de 10 euros. Las comidas de peregrino pueden variar, pero la dueña acogedora hizo un esfuerzo especial para cuidar a sus clientes.
El servicio fue muy pobre, no era acogedor, no tenían menús, el plato principal de costillas estaba demasiado carbonizado y la salsa nadaba en un centímetro de aceite junto con las papas fritas. Compartimos una botella completa de supuestamente vino 11% (ya nos la dieron con el corcho afuera), no había rastro de alcohol en toda la botella. No era caro, pero aún así absolutamente no valía la pena.
Mis dos hijas y yo nos quedamos en el Albergue Pitis y cenamos en el restaurante, después de un día caminando en el Camino del Norte. La habitación estaba limpia y las camas cómodas. Los baños en el Albergue eran excelentes. La comida en el restaurante era comida tradicional para peregrinos para 10 euros, incluyendo vino. Servicio muy amable el dueño y su hija fueron geniales.

We stayed at the Alburgue and ate at the restaurant owned by the same person. So glad we ate here! The Peregrino meal was home cooked and absolutely delicious. Great value too! The owner who prepared it was so pleased at our enjoyment. It made this Camino stop so enjoyable for us. We had the peppers stuffed with fish as our second course and I posted a pic. Just wonderful.
My friend and I arrived in Markina at 8 pm as we had walked that day from Getaria. We were very tired and didn't have anything booked. The folks at this restaurant made us very welcome. They offered us food and accommodation- both gratefully received. Rooms were in a nearby apartment and were ideal. The food was hearty and plentiful. It certainly made our night.
Hits the spot after a hard days walking, try the courgette soup its unreal. No menu so be sure to know your basics, starter is salad or soup, main meal for peregrinos is chips some meat, good custard for dessert. Enjoy!
Buena comida decente para los peregrinos hambrientos. Simple y rústico pero después de una larga caminata tiene un gran valor y satisface el apetito. Una botella de vino agradable para acompañarla, ¡todo por 10 euros!

Had dinner here as I was staying in the hostel owned by the same owners. I chose from the set pilgrim menu €10 for starter main and desert with a drink. Dinner was pretty good considering the price.
