As usual, I enjoyed my meal at The Artful Gourmet, although my salmon (Dejas) was a tad undercooked (I tend to prefer it on the well done side). The service staff was great, and it was fairly quiet because many patrons have not returned from COVID (although there were a number of outdoor dining guests). Also, I kinda miss the huge "Picasso"-inspired mural that I felt really captured the artistic essence of the place. Without the mural, the dining room loses a little charm. Finally, as I have often stated to the staff, the restaurant would do itself a favor in offering "N.Y. My starter was the Monet Mussels definitely enough for 2 they were perfectly cooked hot and delicious in a garlic white wine sauce they were excellent A garlic toast was served with the mussels and the garlic white wine sauce was excellent for dipping. My meal was pretty underwhelming, especially for the price. One small crab cake, green beans, and mashed potatoes was $27. The crab cake tasted good enough, but was nothing special. I'd love to have had a nice remoulade with it but it came with cocktail sauce (that's weird to me, but that might be normal in Maryland, I honestly don't know). The mashed potatoes were pretty good but they needed salt. The green beans were cooked to death, in my opinion. They were too soft and some of them were a bit brown and sad looking. A wonderful change in dining, some inventive menu items, cooked and served to perfection. The Veronese Shrimp Gorgonzola was exceptional, I enjoyed perfectly cooked Degas (grilled salmon Yukon Gold mashed potatoes), my partner had the Messina (Chicken Breast with mushrooms, spinach and sun dried tomatoes) he had a side of sautéed spinach instead of potatoes to keep on his diet. Went for my anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. I got the chicken stuffed with crab meat which is one of their specials when I went on Tuesday. SO GOOD. The pasta my boyfriend got was so creamy. The staff was very nice and prompt with everything. Nice location as well :
