Arvenstube Im Waldhaus Sils

The Waldhaus is a very old hotel, with a very old clientele and ownership, as a result of which it feels a bit stiff and worn out. While the spa is new and quite impressive, the other parts of the hotel resemble more of a museum. The rooms have no airconditioning, and you may therefore find yourself being buzzed awake by a helicopter flying through the valley at 6am because you left the window open for ventilation. For elderly german-speakers, the concerts and book lectures may form an attraction, but for non-german speakers they have the effect of making you feel a little out of place. I didn't stay, just ate in their superb restaurant. I promised myself I'd come back together. Absolutely the best restaurant in the Engadine. Starting from the dishes up to the kindness of the waiters and owners who I had the pleasure of knowing in turn. Oklahoma Joe, it was amazing to be able to taste meat cooked this way.
