Asador Casa Ángel

We ventured here from a TripAdvisor reccomendation for the restaurant's previous incarnation Casa Angel. What a brilliant meal. Not cheap, but for this quality food in Pamplona, about normal pricing. Being unable to speak Spanish, we appreciated the head waiter having a reasonable grasp of English. His wonderful attitude made the night even better. The entrees asparagus (1) and anchovies (2) were large sizes. The first was the pick. For some, a selection of entrees may be the way to go. The roast pork is actually a tiny baby pig (cut lengthwise) so small it fits the plate. To die for!!!!! The lamb rack was not, but the eye of lamb cooked brilliantly on the BBQ. The recommended wine worked well.

We were specifically looking for an asador in Pamplona where we could eat a chuleton a la brasa, and I guess we found it. We arrived by mistake some 20 minutes before opening time, yet the chef seated us, got the coal going and served us drinks before the waitress had even arrived. Being the only ones in the restaurant was a bit awkward, but soon a few more tables were filled. We had a rare 1.3kg chuleton, with grilled vegetables and triple malt artisan beer to go with. The desserts were interesting, although not the strong point of the menu. The price was correct.

If meat is your best friend then definitely you have to try this restaurant. The food and the service were excellent. The atmosphere was was a little bit dull but all in all it was a great dinner. I strongly recommend the roast lamb and the bear.(They were brilliant!

El viernes fui solo, por mi cuenta. Fue una sorpresa, buscaba comer algo a la parrilla y las verduras y la carne estaban increíbles. La camarera fue amable y atenta, lo cual completó una experiencia maravillosa. Gracias, volveré pronto.

Simple but good restaurant specialized in fishes and meet grilled. Good dessert (sorbet morito). Good service. 40 € person with wine.
