Overall: should be 4/5 but I end up giving it 5/5.<br/ <br/ Definitely the premier sushi restaurant in the eastern suburbs of metro Detroit! Here is why:<br/ <br/ Service: some of the friendliest service I've ever had any restaurant anywhere, staff is courteous and if not too busy will chat with you. On top of that you are never left waiting too long.<br/ <br/ Decor: the place is small and intimate, definitely a great place to take a day and it truly feels authentically Japanese. Ashai. Let me start off by saying i love this place, not only do they have great food but their hospitality is on point as well. I and my girlfriend are basically regulars at this place. We get smiles every time we walk in, now i'm not sure if it's because we are recognized but it just shows the good nature of the people here, we have gotten more then a couple complimentary appetizers. But let me talk about the Sushi. I have things i get every time, they are mostly all Nigiri Salmon and Smelt Roe, Tuna and Surf Clam. I've never had a bad roll or meal here, but carryout can be spotty. I've learned to add five or ten minutes to the quoted time on the phone. Also, the menu available here is not up to date, nor does it reflect current pricing. For example, the chicken teriyaki lunch box is $11.95 now instead of the $8.95 that is shown right now. I grabbed a carryout menu and intend to upload an updated version as soon as possible. They have some of the best ginger dressing in the area.
Fresh Delicious!. I recently moved to Michigan from Phoenix and was homesick for some authentic sushi like I would get at Sushi Eye back in Ahwatukee. Asahi Sushi definitely delivered! Everything was delicious and the presentation is beautiful! I will be frequenting this place for sure. This was a very nice establishment, loved the presentation of the food we ordered. The salmon was a bit overcooked and didn't seem as fresh, the water had a weird aftertaste so I ended up having ordering a beverage when I would've preferred to have water. Overall great sushi and chicken teriyaki. I will be back just not for the salmon or water.
Favorite Sushi spot in Metro Detroit! Great customer service and the food never fails! Prices have changed a bit from the menu uploaded on Zomato, but I have no problem paying the difference when the food has such great authentic quality!! Friendly staff and great food presentations! Definitely will be back very soon!
