My friends and I visit ashvale at least once a week and usually really enjoy our visits as it 's a great time to catch up and enjoy some tasty food. The ladies who usually serve us are very kind, polite and treat us very well. However, when my friend and I visited we were served by a lady who we 've never seen betore. A smily, young girl at first glance but once she took our order became very undermining and rude. I had asked for salad instead of peas and this is usually not a problem, but this one lady decided this was not allowed and sharply said 'no '. I visited about 21:50hrs, about 10 minutes for closing. Upon placing my take-way order, the staff were clearly dismayed as 'their ' quota of chips that they had been 'keeping an eye on ' to take home was to be lessened by my order. I ordered a small portion of chips and a jumbo battered sausage. This was served by a charmless member of staff. The chips were very greasy and a mixture of overcooked and under-cooked and cost a whopping £2.20 for what was a very very small portion. The battered jumbo sausage was dry, very peppery to taste and had the consistency as though it had been cooked the day before. I had diarrhea as a consequence of the food served at this establishment.
I visited this restaurant yesterday, November 24th, at 4:30 pm. The fish did not seem fresh as it should be white and flaky. The batter was soft like rubber instead of crispy. The chips were dry and there weren't many on the plate. The chef who prepared these dishes needs proper training. It was a total waste of money. I did complain at the time and suggested they need to improve. I have seen several negative reviews and this is how a business loses customers.
I had a disappointing experience at Fish RAW. The batter on the fish was thick and only half cooked, and the chips weren't fully done. I had visited in August and the food was delicious, but it seems like there must be a different chef now because it was inedible this time. The fish even had a strange smell and taste. I will definitely not be returning. When I called to complain to the supposed "manager," they showed no interest in addressing my concerns.

Worst chipper I have ever had! Haddock supper and sausage supper for my wife was ordered. We had to throw it out after eating a few mouthfuls. Grease laden and completely tasteless! Same they are so horrible and using the Ashvale branding. The one in town is a much higher standard. I was charged £15 just to throw it in the bin 5 minutes after purchasing. Waste of money and time.
We have dined at this restaurant on many occasions and never had a bad meal , they do great fish n chips that are always cooked fresh to order. The epitome of the Great British Chipper , highly recommended
I absolutely loved the battered sausages at this restaurant! They were perfectly coated and delicious. I highly recommend trying them - did I mention how yummy they were?
Had a lovely meal there and was really impressed. No grease at all and loved the mushy peas. Service was great too, very friendly
