Astoria Bistro Botanique

First I loved the ambience of the place, it´s peaceful and cozy. I ordered an onion soup which was full of flavor, I also ordered tempeh bacon because I was curious and it was very disapointing, they gave me two very thin and small pieces of tempeh, not worth the price. Then I ordered a bowl of veggies with rice and tofu and it was delicious, I was nervous that it may be too spicy but it was perfect and so tasty, I loved my dish. Then I ordered a blueberry cheesecake, it was good, but not my favorite. Updated from previous review on 2022-05-08

Great looking restaurant with a nice selection of meals. The risotto is amazing. All the shareable and main courses are high end delicious! My favourite now. Brunch maybe, the below is from a year ago, they must have changed chefs. The eggs benedict is not very well done, sauce and bun way too sweet but great potatoes. I went for vegan Breakfast, I had the smoked Salmon Benny. It’s been a lot of years since I had real Salmon but it definitely tasted like Salmon. The store smelled so good because of all the waffles. I flew home and now I’m missing the vegan breakfast from Astoria and wish I could go back. If your in the Ottawa area I would highly recommend this place.

First of all the place is so cute with full of lights! The food is AMAZING, the breakfast as well. Totally recommend. It’s a little bit expensive but fancy.
