At Shibden Mill Inn

Arrived on time to be sent to the bar for 20 minutes while they prepared a table. Not acceptable with a child. The food was okay but flavour pairings were a little poor. Lipstick on the glasses and left without drinks for the whole main course. The children’s menu was awful, clearly created through necessity and not by someone who cares what children eat. My daughter ordered fish and chips at £9 she couldn’t eat much of it, it was cheap frozen fish and fries….. worlds away from the fish and chips my Mum ordered from the adults menu. It was supposed to be a treat as my daughter is a real foodie but another visit to Shibden Mill will now be my go to threat for bad behaviour. The 10% service ch...

Ate in the upstairs restaurant area which was pleasant. Service was ok a little clunky and had to make an effort to get the attention of staff, but they were friendly and informative about dishes. Had the taster menu decent portion sizes and good flavours. More fish dishes than meat and 3 different desserts when you include petit fours, which seemed excessive. Relaxed in terms of gap between courses and not feeling rushed. Overall a nice meal, decent wine and reasonably priced at just ofer £200 for a couple.

Outstanding food, definitely not small portions as other reviewers have said, in fact, we ordered chips which we didn’t need. The presentation of the meal was stunning, very clever chef! And the taste did not disappoint either, best meal that we have ever eaten. Amazing attentive staff, not in your face but very attentive. Beautiful ambient setting, felt like I was somewhere very special, and we were! Reasonably priced, £20 for main of this quality is a steal in my book.

Enjoyed it very much. All good. Beautiful food. Good service. Quaint old building. It's very interesting inside It really is a nice experience. I thought it was good value. Nice ambience and nice staff. All the timings were perfect drinks, food, desert menu, and we had a nice table and table position. It ticked all the boxes for us. Highly recommended. We were staying at the hotel so had lunch and dinner (and breakfast) Excellent service- good choice and good sized portions. Beautifully cooked steak. Good choice of ports to accompany the cheese platter which is quite substantial. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

This charming inn is a regular “go to” when visiting family in Halifax. Superb food and drink selection. Great wine list and well kept cask ales. The staff are very helpful and attentive and the decor atmosphere is charming. Roaring open fires in the Winter and cosy dining areas. Superb.

Superb setting, building unique with unbeatable atmosphere. Open fires and tasteful decorations created a memorable occasion. The service was impeccable, such well motivated, helpful, pleasant staff. Food delicious, flavours first rate . Good vegetarian/vegan menu. Will be back a.s.a.p.

First time dining at Shibden Mill Inn, and it wont be the last. The food was stunning, and service was excellent. The vegan options were delicious. Looking forward to dining here again soon!

Beautiful pub/restaurant n a tucked away, scenic area. We had really lovely food and relaxed, friendly service. The fire was very welcome too!!
