We go to Atlas all the time and have always had a wonderful experience until last night.We got there at 6 for our reservation and ordered our appetizers and meals. There were 6 of us. The appetizers took 70 minutes to arrive and during that time one of our guests started having a low blood sugar reaction as he is diabetic and without food his sugar went too low. We recognized this and immediately went to the bar and got him a quick glass of orange juice which held him over until the food arrived. More on this later.... The food was absolutely amazing. The charcuterie board was very appealing, having 6 different types of cheese and 5 different types of cured meat. The beef tenderloin was delicious, it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The tomahawk steak for 2 was also amazing, being cooked perfectly as well. I recommend either the tomahawk or the beef tenderloin. The mac & cheese side dish was delicious. For dessert, we ordered the salted caramel Creme brûlée. 2 friends and I visited last night for dinner. 2 of us chose the 3 course dinner for $50 with Caesar salad, steak and strawberries with mascarpone and phyllo pastry while the other chose the beef tenderloin with lobster bisque to begin, scallops to accompany his steak and asparagus to share. The Caesar salads were deliciously garlicky and the dressing creamy. The steaks were nicely cooked to order with an excellent salted crust. I ordered mine with Stilton butter which was delicious. The reviews appeared good so we went to the casino for a nice dinner out. We felt like we were interrupting the staff from their socializing, and the service was reflective. We were seated at the most convenient table, not the nicest and as there was only one other group, four guys eating not dining, no good reason to be seated beside them. The menu is a little complicated and the costs escalate in a hurry. Decent wine list, and beverage options, although Canadian whiskies are listed in the American section and there are "none available " in the Canadian whisky section. Went here for a group gathering for an anniversary party, about 20 people. Had a seafood rice dish and it was terrible. I didn't like the taste of it at all and they didn't seem to really care that I didn't eat my dinner. I wasn't the only one. No one was impressed with their meal,..all were disappointed. The appies to begin with were very good but that was all. The service was sub par as well. Would never book a gathering there.
Steak was great, but very expensive. House salad was nice, good portion. Scallop soup that I tried is OK, but for the price of I think, 10 CAD it was not there, and VERY small portion.Did not like it, overly expensive, but interior was very nice and posh. Courteous staff.
I have had a few steak dinners here and would definitely go back. The service was a little slow, but the wine and warm buns in the cast iron pan made it worth the wait.
