The last time I visited this place it was very much a cafe of the croque monsieur and chips type, but what a change!!! Now under new management with a carte of modest length but of excellent choices we, wife, elderly mum, friend Jill and myself were treated to some excellent food. Jill and I went for the 18 Euro menu of three courses commencing with a typical gascon salad which included foie gras, followed by a main course of duck (the breast blade fillet) in a wonderful fruit sauce with grapes accompanied by buttered sautéed green beans with mushrooms and steamed potato. Dessert had several choices, I had fruit tart and Jill had creme brûlée. My mother and my wife had a main course of fresh...

My French isn't perfect but I pointed on the menu to a Greek pizza, one of the ingredients was salade which I took to mean some green on the pizza (common in the US). When a separate salad arrived and a four cheese pizza I took it to mean that I had misunderstood and Greek pizza must mean something very different in France. I ate some of the salad (very poor) and some of the pizza (burnt) when the waitress came up angry because I was eating someone else's salad. Then charged me 31 euros for her mistake in delivering the wrong thing. Anyway, insanely rude. I wish I could give 0 stars. Do NOT stop here. I am walking the Chemin Saint Jacques and eat in different restaurants often twice or three...

We had lunch here , we chose the menu du jour at 13 euros. No choice but the food was well presented and tasty, small quiche starter, blanquette de veau, and chocolate orange mousse. The service was impeccable, we ate on the first floor, which was very modern and clean. No complaints, with a total bill of 34 euros , including a beer, house wine and a coffee. Certainly worth a revisit

Passing through this pretty village we decided to make a coffee and croissant stop. Atura Cafe doesn’t have pastries. The secret is to go to the bakery next door Larrieu Pere et Fils buy your croissants, which are delicious, and then enjoy a first class noisette in the cafe. Great combination. They sent us to the pastry shop, so that’s the routine.
