Au Bon Vent - Reservar una mesa

Our party of x 4 turned up without a reservation on a Thursday evening in November and were given a warm and friendly welcome. Nice choice of set menus all really good value for money. Excellent buffet starter,lovely Main courses (1 x Salmon, 1 x Duck, 2 x Steak) all with the trimmings of choice,followed by Cheese board then buffet desserts which were all obviously homemade and delicious. Beer at a good price and a reasonably priced nice Cote du Rhone red wine.The family run restaurant was quiet as expected at this time of year but all in all a place to revisit and recommend.

We had lunch here. It was packed with locals indicating that it should be good value for money: and it was! Service was quick and correct. The lunch menu including one drink was about 12 to 13 euros and coffee was 1 euro extra. The main course was simpel but tasty. What was special were the elaborate starter and desert buffets. So many different foods to choose from and all equally wonderful! We were rather late but the staff still added new things when others ran out in the buffet. Definitely eat here when you’re in Mortain!

This is a good modest place to eat. The starters and puddings are buffet style, which means you can help yourself to a selection of good things. I'm a pudding buff and can highly recommend them. There was even a fruit crumble! The mains are workmanlike. It's a family owned place looks like Mother in the kitchen and Son serving. The decor is plain and simple, the lighting bright so not a place for a romantic a deux.

We are regulars at this restaurant because it is so good and reasonable. The self-service starters and puddings are fantastic. And the mains are good too. This is a dependable place. I highly recommend it.

Food was good and very reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the very friendly waitress offered to help translate the menu for us. I would recommend a visit.
