Au Bout de la Rue

We visited the restaurant in the hopes of finding food just a little above the rest of lunch time food given it's bib gourmand status. We chose from the essentials menu. The food we received was all well cooked, well prepared and well presented. My husbands herring cheesecake starter with beetroot jam was both innovative and very tasty. The creme fresh served with the chocolate gateau for desert was also delicious. It was like sweetened clotted cream. The waiters were attentive. Small disappointments were the poor state of the menus, the lack of sufficient cheese straws to eat the tuna mouse that was the amuse bouche, (my husband got caught with his finger in the pot!) and the weird meringue/macaron that was served with coffee.

Table booked for 9pm Saturday night. Service a bit sluggish but quality not to be criticized. Good choice of wine. The steak tartare of usual excellent quality, prepared at the table, so all ingredients can be seen. This meal cannot be faulted. Served with fries and a simple lettuce salad. Quantity sufficient. Pavlova with liquorice sauce and pears to finish the meal. This is the third time I've eaten here, and not once have I been disappointed. Constant quality and professionalism makes this restaurant one of the best in the region.

This is my second visit to this restaurant. An original French cuisine with a polite stuff (not so French as usual). Even my 10 years old daughter loved the fish (turbo). my wife appreciate her saint pierre fish too. We recommend this place for everyone passing by. We were lucky, not much wait for serving.

We've eaten there for a friend get-together evening and it was a blast. Food is delicious, even though quantity in the plate is limited you will be very satisfied with a 3- course. Waiter can assist you wisely with wine selection. Price is high but quality of food and service are met.

Recommended by our hotel, we had one of best meals out in a long time. Very efficient staff and fabulous food. We went on a Tuesday evening and it was full.That tells you how good it is.
