Finding good food in Nimes can be very hit and miss but, for a good all round bar/restaurant you won't go far wrong at Au Bureau.It has a TGI Friday kind of feel and serves good steaks, pizzas, salads etc.and even fish and chips (delicious!) together with a typically French menu of the day, all at reasonable prices and in friendly and inviting surroundings.Well worth a visit unless your looking for haute cuisine, in which case be careful. Our attempt at this was a bit of a disaster when we went to the Restaurant d'Artists and everything came smothered in a very strong tasting cheese based sauce.
we were in nimes for the weekend when we were in the south of France and did not want the effort to find eating at smaller places when restaurants are closed in the rule. we were just too foot. removal from au bureau. we were already familiar with the brand that was on the airport bordeaux and this was no different. as usual we arrived 7 o'clock, so we had a glass of wine while we waited to start dinner. once again the au bureau made his magie and we enjoyed our meal so much that we returned in the following night. great place for 7/7 restaurants!
We ordered a medium-sized entrecôte, but it was done well. Then we have the same steak, but more cooked. The third we got was worse than the first and we showed them pictures how to cook a steak. Sad was the boss... the guard was really not serviceminded and told us we order the fish if not satisfied. The meeting was full of tendons, so we couldn't eat half of it.
We were exhausted and starving when we arrived in Nimes and this just seemed like a simple place to go for a quick dinner. Au Bureau totally lived up to that. The service was quick and simple and the food was ok. Nothing wrong with...it but nothing special either and we felt it was a little expensive.

to find a nice restaurant in nimes between all the pizza houses is hard. this is a little walk away from the centre, but nice food and beer in a comfortable environment makes it worth the walk in my opinion. Not 'typically' french, but comfortable and the burgers are proper minced steak, not patties.
you will find yourself in the classic office and with space. we arrived in reservation and we were greeted with the smile and without difficulty. correct meals and in the spirit of offices. just a regret that a group made a lot of noise but nothing to do with the staff who was smiling to the end.
We eat well at the lunch break, nice decor, friendly staff too but rather cool raoul, we waited a quarter of an hour just to get the card. You don't have to be rushed, if you have less than an hour to eat it's too fair, we've been forced to eat very fast so we don't have to be late at work.
well located outside the city nimes, easy to park in the opposite and great place to dinner, have enough choice to please every member of our family.
