to stay in another of the local hotels, my companion and I decided to try out the easier menu offer in the lion d’or’s winstub. a little after six for a start-end drink we have not found a menu on the tables; dinner is served at the tables, so we waited until about quarter before the request. we said that they would not serve in the winstub this evening, but we could eat in the main restaurant from the light menu if we wanted it. sitting in the restaurant, I decided that I would only choose one main course from the à la carte menu. we ordered about twenty seven. We visited 'Au Lion d'Or' for dinner whilst staying at another of the village hotels. The hotel is an attractive building right in the village centre. The restaurant, at the back, is in a vast room which reminds one of dining on an ocean liner. Food was of a high standard and we were impressed by the complimentary 'amuse-bouches' which arrived before the starter and after the first course. The chef here is clearly serious and proud, and it showed. We had some stunning foie gras (no apologies whatever to the 'antis'!). A side-salad ordered for my wife who preferred not to have a first course was a little work of art in itself. Excellent wine-list. Pity the service was stiff and characterless...

during our visit to la Petite-Pierre we decided to eat once in another hotel than in the one where we lived. many years ago we had stopped on the lion d’Or for lunch, so we decided first to do the same and. to have a snack in her winstub. later on the day (boxing day), we had a reservation in their gastronomic restaurant. we started with a large glass crémant that was extremely good (and also very good). for beginners, we had a lot of smoked salmon and smoked trout that was light and tasty, accompanied by a delicious riesling from the house trimbach. our leading role was civet de marcassin with spaetzli and a big cuenz bas pinot noir. we have with some big local cheese, including munster. it...

here is about our visit to this restaurant on boxtag. we always enjoy it. the service is magnificent, the room is beautiful and the view spectacular (although at night we have not seen much). eating is traditional and reliable delicious. again. place to next year! Reserva una mesa ahora

Brilliant wild boar stew with pasta. Just loved it and would love more!! Great with the local wine. Cheese plate was fab. overall an excellent experience and I cant wait to next time.

We arrived as a group of 20+ people after visiting the Lalique factory. The reception was very friendly, the service impeccable and the food (coq au riesling) perfectly prepared.
