Au Louis D'or - Reservar una mesa

A few yards from the cathedral, I was expecting low quality and high prices. On the contrary, this place was clean, service was rapid, and the food was well-cooked, tasty and reasonably priced. A galette complete cost 6.20 (ham,egg, and cheese). Near the Tapestry, the same galette would cost 10€. Highly recommended. It rapidly filled up with French people during lunchtime, which is always a good indication.

Au Louis d'Or is a real gem. We had a daily special of a ham and egg galette, sweet crepe (I had rhubarb) and glass of cider for 9 euro. We ate in a creperie in Paris that was touted as best in Paris, and Au Louis d'Or was better and great value, too. If you like crepes, this is definitely a place to seek out. It is located on side street, Rue du Bienvenu, behind the cathedral.

The restaurant has nice wait staff, nice seating and is both close to the cathedral and yet somewhat distant from major accumulations of tourists, at least at the time of our visit. The savoury galettes and the sweet crêpes are.excellent. We had galette fromagere, cidre (four producers to choose from) and crèpes as dessert.

A great little creperie with excellent fare and service. It pays to know a little French here. It gets busy with locals. They take reservations but will try their best for you if you just stumble in. After Paris, the gracious kindness of the people of Normandy is a bit of a shock.

Everything about this restaurant was wonderful the excellent service, superb choice, fantastic value and of course the gorgeous food. We both had the 12.50Euro lunch which included a galette, a crepe, a drink and then tea or coffee. Highly recommend calling in here.
