We stopped here for lunch on the advice of reviews on Trip Advisor and enjoyed the most delicious midday meal. The Auberge is situated just next to the very handy and quirky Tire Bouchon train from Auray which takes you down the Quiberon peninsula, avoiding summer traffic jams. (The village of Ploemel itself is pretty, has an excellent boulangerie and other useful shops.) Delicious home-cooked food, clean, comfortable, relaxed and very friendly you couldn't beat this experience and so very reasonably priced. Entree (two of) choice of plat du jour (moules-frites or papilottes de veau, sauce champignons, frites) , cheese, home-made dessert with wine, bottled water and coffee included. For twelve euros fifty a head! There was no compromising on the quality though. The cafes and restaurants of Carnac and surrounding area do look very tempting but if you want a good home-cooked traditional French lunch served by the most friendly ladies then this wins hands down. I'd rather come here any time! Absolutely worth a detour .
