Auberge Communale de St-Legier

Lovely terrace outside, but facing the road, and that 's ok as the traffic is not disturbing, but it 's a shame as the restaurant is in a nice little village, therefore a little bit more greenery would be welcome. Service was slow, despite a restaurant that was half full on the terrace (empty inside). Carre ' de veau was ok, gigot was not juicy and pink, but obviously undercooked and too tough, the homard was bitter and poorly prepared, soaking in an overpowering borderline unedible bisque. We openly said this to the chef when he came out to meet the patrons (not sure why, as we are not talking about a celebrity chef and I hope he was not waiting for an hurrah! for his food) and what we got...

This restaurant is one like many in small villages. It is usually supported by the village and has better prices than most other privately owned restaurants. We live in St-Legier and don't frequent Auberge Communale because the prices are very high. That is a bit uncommon as the restaurant is for the commune and supported by the locals. Otherwise, the service is good and the food is a bit high end but pleasant.

The restaurant is nice and pretty. Nit recommended with small children. Groups welcome. We started at 12:30, ate and drank until 5:00. The staff is very attentive and friendly. We all had venison. Meal was excellent!

Some places just don’t do it to you: this was one of those places. Interior is nice. Service was awkward, food was mediocre and price was high in comparison, which is not a brilliant combination.

Discovered this restaurant a few weeks ago and have been back a few times since. Quality of food is consistently excellent with faultless service. We will definitely be back.
