Hoping to find a good lunch on the way from St.Omer back to the ferry at Dunkirk, I browsed Trip Advisor reviews. We were delighted to find the auberge highly rated and set off to Nieurlet. The auberge was a mile outside the village and well worth seeking out.A lovely old building with welcoming staff on arrival. We liked the simple menu on the blackboard and chose the beef carbonnade which was beautifully flavoured and one of the best I have ever tasted. Our dessert was crème brulee without a hard crust which was also very good. Two large parties dining near us were locals and seemed to be enjoying everything as much as we did. The bill for two with starter drinks and a bottle of red wine was 68 euro and the whole experience was great. We wll return !
