We eat here once a year for the last seven years. The environment is delightful when you are in the deepest landscape, although it is only 5 minutes from Marseillan and 5 minutes from Meze. The two dining rooms are large and equipped with an old fashion charm with a huge fireplace in each where the ducks, or geese, or gigot lamb cooked and basted before the open fire. The menu is always similar, but reflects some of the seasons, although I can only recommend when the weather is cold, as the meal is huge significant starters, followed by another significant starter (i.e. filled mussels, ragout of mussels and squid, salad of chicken livers, puff pastries with mushrooms or licks and ducks etc.)...

We have visited Lupian almost every year in the last 16 years. We try to find new restaurants to visit every year, but find it hard as most cook / supply the same food, especially oysters and shells, raw or cooked. We went to TripAdvisor and found this fantastic Auberge. Admittedly, it was not easy to find, but please be persistent after the signs and you will not be disappointed. (You could advertise on the main road that it is an aurberg, but that would attract tourists, perhaps not! The location, building, dining room, weapon and food completely amazing. Fortunately, we went on a mission to find it 10 days in advance to book our table for lunch. There is only one meeting and the restauran...

My wife and I recently went here with two friends for the first time and were not disappointed. The 17th building Century struck a 'feel good factor', which continued when we arrived in the restaurant above a magnificent room with a large open fire, where guests could see that the meat cooked on a skewer. When one of our friends noticed that Henry VIII hadn't been here, in a medieval banquet (even if he had gone by 200 years to the building! We received a warm welcome and the service was attentive throughout the evening. The atmosphere could not have been cosier. There were different menus on offer 17,50€, 23,50€ and 30€. Between us we enjoyed chicken liver salad, snails and seafood puff pas...

This is a real pleasure. As different as most restaurants in this area. It is traditional, rural and entertaining. Let me be clear: this is not Cordon bleu, but original and rustic. A 20-30 seat restaurant, a small menu, but so refreshing. While the main course gently turns on a spit in front of a huge fireplace, you get to choose from a starter, then another before the main course comes from the fireplace. Wine is selected from its own stock at lower prices than you can imagine. The waitress was lovely and the puddings and coffee were in place. Here is the catch: open only on Saturday night, Sunday lunch and bank holidays. The exception is if you are a big party, you could have a private ag...
