My husband and I visited this restaurant twice during our recent visit to France. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we felt compelled to write a review. The menu is varied and reasonably priced but the best bit was the food and the lovely staff who spoke English and were very helpful in explaining the less familiar dishes. They were both knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu and we felt brave enough to try some more unusual things. On the first visit we both had Truffade, a delicious cheese and potato bake with cured ham which is a local favourite. On the return visit we tried Pounti (like quiche without the pastry- it disappeared pretty promptly!) and pork in a mustard sauce served...

Response to Jean Yves Coing: M. I am outraged to read an opinion such as yours! I think we haven't been to the same address and that you are disrespecting the kitchen staff. Do you know traditional Auvergne cuisine? It wouldn't seem... Just delicious verrines with regional products, homemade blueberry ice cream with little pieces of meringues INCREDIBLE! Furthermore, if you are able to smell the odors of a clean glass, let me doubt the finesse of your palate. Perhaps it was you, sir, who must have had a bad day.

That was our first truffade, an Auvergnate speciality of potatoes and melted cheese served with Auvergne ham and salad. Although this sounds very simple, it was absolutely delicious. There was a hint of garlic, the potatoes were the right variety for the dish and were cooked to perfection, the cheese was excellent fresh "fermier" raw milk tome of Aubrac. The price is very reasonable for the quality.

My wife and I were staying at the chateau in saint saturnin and were recommended to go along. Busy little place and great fresh food.Would be 5 stars but some lots of lentils instead of potatoes. The truffade looked great! But no vegetarian choice but that's France for you :) Reserva una mesa ahora

A very welcoming restaurant with wonderful friendly staff, local produce, great wine and amazing food. It was also extremely good value. The best restaurant in the area in our opinion and definitely worth a visit.

Nice food with great views of Lac Aydat, a little pricey but lots of choice. The local beer is awful, the steak amazing
