This restaurant re-opened this year under new management. The previous owners were superb and therefore hard to beat. We decided to have dinner one evening. Menus are 25e, 35e or a la carte. We chose the 35 euro menu. It consisted of starter, main course and dessert NO cheese. Starter of a foie gras mousse was good. I had a main course of duck which i was unable to finish as the sauce was unpleasant and bitter. My husband had cod and also found his sauce unpleasant. We did wonder if both sauces might be from the same source.Dessert was fine but not memorable. We have known of this restaurant for some years now but have never got around to visiting it, however we did so on the occasion of my birthday. We booked via Internet, with an immediate confirmation being returnrd.On arrival we were greeted warmly and shown to a table, the restaurant is very pleasantly decorated and has a sophisticated air to it.The menu is not large but it offers sufficient choice to satisfy most tastes. We found our trip to the Auberge an absolute treat, we regularly visit restaurants in the area when visiting family in the area, and there are a selection of good and bad restaurants along with hidden gems like this. Having not visited this restaurant before we have managed to visit for both lunch with family and dinner with my wife, on both occasions the food was faultless in both the fish dishes and the steaks, with the scallops in particular being very strong, the service excellent even when on the lunch there was a party of 30 in we got served just at the right pace, the food from the amuse Boucher through to the dessert would all match top restaurants in cities and the presentation was...

We have visited this restaurant on a few occasions over the years, but it's some years since we last visited and we couldn't remember exactly where it was. It was only by chance that we discovered it again today and stayed for lunch with our small dog. We were not disappointed! We chose from the Special's menu: my husband from the 25€ and me from the 33€. The portions were larger than we remembered, so make sure you are hungry when you visit! We were so pleased when this restaurant re-opened under new management and have eaten there at least half a dozen times in the past few months and have not been disappointed once. Lovely atmosphere, charming hosts and brilliant meals - 3 courses for 25€ or 33€ or a la carte. The steak tartare is one of the tastiest I've had whether it's been the veal, steak or salmon, the steak cooked to perfection and only needing a butter knife to eat with, and the desserts have all been beautifully presented. its a high standard restaurant. the staff are very welcoming and charming! we have been going to this restaurant for a couple of years , The quality of the food and service is very high, and its always such a good value for you're money. we have always had the pannier du chef at 49 euros which includes an aperitif, a glass of wine with each course and coffee and mignardise to end the meal. the food is presented lovely and tastes Devine. the food is always served with a smile .we will defiantly be back.

We visited this restaurant a few days ago for dinner and I can highly recommend it. Both the service and the food were excellent. I had the veau tartare as a starter and the fillet steak as a main. The meat was very tender and the fillet was done exactly as requested. We declined dessert, but was presented with a complementary chocolate pot each. Quite small and just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. There is a set menu or an a la carte menu. I shall certainly visit this establishment again.

I travel on business somewhere in the region of 400,000 miles a year and spend a great deal of time entertaining clients around the globe. How rare to stumble upon a true culinary gem nestled in the French countryside. Beautifully presented food where the taste and quality live up to the presentation. Have just been here with friends for a wonderful evening meal. High class cooking and service - depth of flavour in the main course was exceptional and two soufflés for pudding were absolutely right. A great place with nice atmosphere, a definite place to visit if you appreciate great food and attention to detail. Will definitely return here.......a lot!

An excellent experience ! This was our second visit since this lovely restaurant has re-opened. Fantastic food and a warm welcome. Exceptional value 25 euro menu although I went for the à la carte ! The veal tartare was fantastic - and the fillet of beaf with rosti didn't disappoint. An excellent meal in a tranquil setting - we will be back.
