We decided to visit Moret-Sur-Loing based on many accurate descriptions of it being a charming village. Auberge de la Terrace is one of the few hotels that pops up on traditional search engines & the places on French travel sites were booked solid when I looked. Like other travelers note the hotel is dated - very simple rooms - old beds but comfortable & we got a great nights sleep.Thin carpeting & no design features to speak of. Tling in the bathrooms showing it's age but water gets good & hot and strong water pressure. Rooms are overall adequate but not appealing. At 90E a night it's a bit overpriced but they can get it because the location is to die for & half of the rooms have a lovely riverview. The restrauant is fine - not exceptional. The menu of the day is priced at $19 E for two courses or $23 E for three courses but the options are somewhat modest (whiting, sausage, grilled pork), traditional rich sauces. Well prepared - no presentation to speak of. House wines in carafes are quite good. Young attentive wait staff. Great river views from dining room. Very quiet.

A lovely Sunday lunch on the canal de Loing. We were given a table on the terrace overlooking the river, the setting was perfect.Foie gras starter was bang on yet despite the waitress warning me that my Sea Bass main was very hot, it was far from it. However, the flavours were great! I finished with a good cheeseboard and a cafe gourmand. All in all a very good experience but if you've got hemorrhoids the chairs on the terrace have to be the most uncomfortable chairs I've ever sat on! (Not that i have) Take an inflatable cushion. The cushion provided was as thin as a poppadum. Couldn't wait to stand up.Otherwise great value and a lovely lunch. €105 for two including pre dinner drinks and a bottle of Brouilly.

Simple clean but very dated room in a hotel that looks charming from the front with a spectacular view but inside very plain and rather dated. However it is a working hotel which does exactly that. Busy and active mid week with a heavy number of working guys. Restaurant is actually very good with a great view of the river food is excellent with a good selection and first class service. Probably not the place you want to stay for a series of nights but as a stop over it is fine.

We were the only guests, and were seated by the window overlooking the flowing Loing river. Decor a little dated, but clean and welcoming. Excellent service. Three menus at 23 euros each + a great Brouilly. A pleasant and quiet lunch.
