This restaurant is a hidden gem only a 5 min drive from Pezenas and well worth the trip. The restaurant has some tables outside, facing the garden, so ask to be seated sur terrasse when the weather permits (which it usually does). You can choose from several menues (one three course at 22 euros, and another two three or four courses starting at 31 euros), plus a la carte. We had salad de magret, chevre salad and foie gras for our starters all excellent, as were the main courses of steak (charolais) and duck. We had some lovely sauvignon blanc with the starters, and a very decent red (forget which) with our main courses. I particularly recommend my dessert, which was an ice cream souffle with...

Situated in the charming low-key and typically French village of Montblanc, this restaurant has an understated exterior, belying our whole, very pleasant experience. We dined on a tiled terrace, under the shade of venerable plane trees, by a quiet road, punctuated by the passage of a small number of intermittent boy racers. Food and service excellent. Value for money outstanding. We will return before we go home on Sunday.

Last reviewed this restaurant in 2015. Have to say it has got even better. The ambiance is now good, whereas before I felt it lacked something. Service impeccable.The food was absolutely first class, cooked to perfection and full of interesting ingredients which gave it a flavour hard to find in this neck of the woods. Had riz de l'agneau with saute of mushrooms. Quite delicious.

We visited here with friends approx 1 year after our last visit, one friend has a severe nut allergy and the manager was extremely helpful. The food was as good as ever, beautifully arranged, good size portions without being heavy on a very hot day, perfectly cooked. The pitchers of wine were good. Would be happy to recommend the auberge to anybody.
