I say surprising because we expected the restaurant to be a really simple affair with simple, uncomplicated dishes as it is run by a nice family. Although that is true in part, the quality was outstanding. We had snails and a green salad to start not much can go wrong there and it didn't. For mains, we had an onglet of veal and a skirt steak. The meat for both of these dishes was truly excellent. Probably the best piece of veal I have ever had. Both dishes were served with simple but delicious fresh vegetables and spaetles. The service was very friendly and informal and the lady owner was happy to explain anything to us. There were also some locals there so it gave the restaurant a nice feel...
Après 10 heures de route et le montage du camps nous avons été bien contents de trouver cette auberge où nous avons dégusté de superbes tartes flambées et de très bons desserts.Un accueil très chaleureux de la patronne qui, quand elle a appris que nous restions pour 15 jours n'a pas hésité à nous prêter le journal afin que nous ayons la météo de la semaine.Le prix de ce repas et de cet accueil a été très raisonnable.Ne pas hésiter à fréquenter cet établissement.
Wir waren 4 Personen zum Abendessen. Zum Fleisch, welches als Spezialität des Hauses angekündigt wurde, erhielten wir zusätzlich ein Faktenblatt, welches darüber Auskunft erteilte. Das Fleisch war hervorragend gegart, die bestellten frittierten Fische im Teig waren leicht und bekömmlich. Alle Speisen waren überraschend angerichtet und erfreuten sowohl Gaumen als auch die Augen. Was in elsässischen Restaurants nicht immer der Fall ist.
Best steak I 've had in France. Staff went to trouble to cook it as les Anglophones like, and took time to explain afterwards. Very good value. Not a lot of opposition in town but sincere good food and they have pride in what they provide. I felt treated seriously as a guest in this restaurant. Warmly recommend it.

Real alsatian country cuisine. The place is frequented by locals, so this is granted. Local people coming and going just for a glass of wine and a chat with the hostess. Wonderful choucroute. There was nobody around because it was winter, but it should be very very nice especially in springtime.
Attentive service and a cozy restaurant. We had Steak Tatar with fries and fried Onglet with Spaetzle. The Steak Tatar came as a DIY project. Okay quality but a little irritating. The Onglet was well prepared and tasty.

Très beau restaurant familiale, accueil parfait, personnel convivial et menus variés et préparations délicieuses avec un très bon rapport qualité prix.
Très bonnes tartes flambées ! Bonne auberge avec une patronne super sympa, de bons conseils sur le vin !
