It was OK, but one would have to say, just ordinary. After reading all the hype from previous reviews e.g. The French Restaurant of the British fantasy I was left somewhat dismayed and astonished as a result of our visit. The environment was cold and...so uninspired; in fairness it was raining that evening which did little to help the ambience, but then the greeting was equally froide There was however good tableware and linen. I have to say that I found the food tired, sauces lacking flavour, the vegetables unrecognisable through serious over cooking. this restaurant was highly recommended by our friends and also appears in the Michelin guide, so we were determined to try it. we were not disappointed in the fact that we were to the good value represented by the Euro cost of the cure...menu (plus ause bouche) compared to the general travels we experienced in France during these days. the French man and woman team felt very welcome and eating was excellent with good portions. the cheese car that is part of the meal is certainly something to see. service was attentive and we could enjoy a relaxing and delicious meal in a very pleasant environment. ps booking is highly recommended as this is a very popular restaurant for obvious reasons

This was a return visit, years later, it is still amazing. The French Restaurant of the British fantasy. True, attempting to use French will help, this is a restaurant for the locals not tourists, we were privileged to share it with them. Staying in...Albert, it is worth the to minute drive, it is certainly better than anything you will find there. Must find a reason to return again.

dinner with friends was excellent. menu had something for everyone. we had courses and with drinks and wein the bill for came round per head. really excellent value for such fine food and service. highly recommended.

it was recommended to visit this restaurant and we were not disappointed. a small jewel of a place in the village authuille im ancre valley. nice eating and a great service meant a very pleasant evening.
