My partner and I dined in this little auberge last weekend. The lady and young man who served us-could not have been more attentive to our needs. It was a scorching hot day but they went out of their way to move sun shades round. The service was spot on-the pace of service totally correct. We had a lovely artichoke starter with fresh vegetable salad-lots of little extras-amuse bouches etc. The menu at 25 euros each was fantastic-not over heavy-fresh-tasty. I had a lovely iced charlotte desert. Honestly this is a gem and compared to other restaurants in the corner..this is best on quality v price! A cheese trolley! All was beautiful. The setting in front of the Abbey-tranquility itself and hosting that was first rate. A rare treat, thank you
Have eaten at this place for nearly twenty years, did not book last saturday and made the mistake of phoning to reserve late in the afternoon only to find it full. So baby sitting earlier in the week when sons took ther partners to have meals there was not such a good Idea. So did not get to enjoy the seven courses plus aperitifs, wine and coffe for two for under a 100 euro. Warning don't expect a quick meal, this is a night out drop sons at 7:30 picked up approching midnight, service is not slow it is appropriate.Try a drink in the afternoon when it servers drinks outside on the terrace just to get a feel.
We have to thank GoogleMaps for this exceptional find. We had lunch there halfway through a long day's drive and went for this fantastic restaurant about half an hour off the motorway.Turning up unannounced as a family of six, we were immediately shown to a round table inside the beautiful old building.The service was excellent, and the food even better. For what was probably our first fine-dining experience as a family, we felt genuinely welcome, and we relished every minute of it. Even the bill was of surprisingly good value!
We've been here several times, always hoping for the best because of the exceptional location. The food is good, well presented, but not gastronomique, which makes me wonder why it is noted in the Michelin Guide. The owner is extremely friendly and attentive. the Filet de Boeuf was average. My wife's Bar (fish) was better. The selection of cheeses was monotonous & not as good as previous visits.
