this small restaurant is located near the canal du berry museum, few kilometers north of montlucon. the host speaks colloquial English and has a dry feeling of humor reminiscent of jack dee. the lunch menu offered various options, including vegetarian, and eating was served promptly and hot. I gave him five stars in the context of rural French restaurants. the restaurant also serves afternoon refreshments for the users of the nearby canal. the towpath can be reached by bus or train and is used by cyclists and hikers a lot, although the channel is temporarily dry due to a leak in the following lock.
A very good address. We went there for two nights with meals and breakfasts. The welcome is of high quality. Simple and functional room, excellent meal and a hearty breakfast. Calm night in the immediate vicinity of the bike path (Berry canal) We highly recommend for a night, a meal, a drinks break and a short stay....
Great hotel. Staff friendly and efficient with good English. Rooms clean, well maintained. Food basic but good with large portions at reasonable price. No dedicated parking so vehicles left on street in a relatively remote rural area. Location next to Canal de Berry ideal for cycling and walking.
