Auberge Des Grottes

We had dinner several time at the Restaurant des Grottes. The location is amazing as well as the food. The quality of the ingredients is high and very well worked. We appreciated especially an incredible supreme de volaille. Everything is made with care, from a simple green salad to the delicious desserts. The selection of wines is very good and the personnel very competent. We thank especially Friedrick for the support and having suggested us wonderful Jura wines, letting us discover some jewels of the region.

a place out of time in a grandiose setting we had the pleasure of discovering a terroir cuisine of beautifully presented and perfectly served quality. Meurette eggs are perfect as the rest of the menu: salad, aoc bresse chicken and yellow wine trout. Not to mention the dessert: we had the chance to taste the nut pie: speciality of the boss nothing to do with the industrial nuts) in conclusion: an address of less than 30 € per person to spend an unforgettable day in this fabulous setting.

The waiter could have been not more desinterested in our desires; let him look for another job soon!!! His parents ?? where trying to do their best, but overall was this place much too expensive. Not a great choice, and certainly not a place to go with children or people who want to eat something basic. The diningroom inside seems to be a nice place. But probably the same impolite waiter, and the same small menu froglegs, kidney, duck and some fishes . Of course I gave this time no tip.

We have been here before and we think changes have been made. Menu, Service, and presentation were excellent. The menu was varied, well priced and plates were beautifully presented. Two in our party had the trout and raved about it. One other had the 'Menu de Jour ' and devoured every mouthful. We were hoping to sit out on the terrace, but the wind proved too strong. We were a group of 23 people. We were well served with a very good three course meal. Everything was well prepared and warm despite the number we were. The first course (mushrooms on a toast) was great and the sauce excellent. We drank wine from the region. The waterfalls are right next to the terrace and can easily be seen from the restaurant if you are unlucky to have rainy weather.

The grottoes are beautiful as are the gardens. The linen tablecloths and napkins well starched. The service was friendly,helpful and prompt. The food was very good but not outstanding. The wine list was mainly local and extensive. If you are staying in the area it is wort a visit.

Went with my family, although it features a very cosy venue, we waited 30min to get served with very uneven feedback around the table. My trout was tasteless swimming in oil. Felt overrated for such a price point (16-25 for most)

Very unkindly waitress and bad service. Only available when you are going to eat and spend a lot of money. Menu is not special. Location itself is beautiful.
