I have no idea how it is getting so many good reviews other than the people eating there have never been anywhere offering exceptional cuisine. We had high hopes when we checked in and...agreed to book a table since there is really no where else to go nearby (We were staying halfway between Montreal and Quebec City). We sent back our dishes at least times. The beet capaccio appetizer was literally raw beets and carrots. That's it. So tough you couldn't eat them. It made me go into a coughing fit. Our group of 17 people had booked at the restaurant of the Auberge du Lac Saint-Pierre in Pointe-du-Lac for a birthday lunch. The restaurant placed us in a private room, separate from the main dining area, which was perfect as there were children in our group and we felt like we were not disturbing anyone. The food was well prepared with unusual delicious appetizers, such as a creme brulee of tomatoes and a smoked duck salad. The fish of the day was fresh and well presented. Those who had the guinea-fowl as an entree were very happy with their choice. For dessert, we had ordered a birthday cake which was fresh and artistically put together. Service was impeccable.

The only quibble was that the entrée was served on such small plates that it was difficult to eat. The main of duck was excellent but be aware that the chef-proprietor is French and the duck is cooked very rare, sanglant.

The food is outstanding with great attention to detail. The menu is very original, filled with tempting choices and makes great use of locally grown produce. The service is sophisticated, attentive and friendly. They have a great selection of wines from around the world. I...wish we lived close enough to eat here often.
Some comments we read stress a very slow service. It was not true in our case. The service was professional and rapid enough. The only moment we had to wait was when we asked for the bill. The food was very nice, perfectly presented and...served with all necessary explanations. It was a nice experience.
The food at this restaurant is excellent. Don't miss out on the beet salad and the sun-dried tomato pesto. The service is friendly and the atmosphere resembles that of a luxury hotel.
Loved everything that was served from appetizers to desserts. We all shared. Regular portions. Menu includes price from appetizer t OK dessert. Price is very reasonable.

The carrot cake is made from an old family recipe, and very tasty.
