Auberge du Rant Aures

After a drove through Auch and Pessan and not finding anywhere suitable to eat we were directed to this place. We had to follow instincts and keep driving despite a lack of signage along the route. It was a relief to find it and the most adorable dog came up to us in the car park and guided us to the terrace, he made an excellent host.There was a set menu (and by set I mean There is 1 starter, 1 main but a choice of desert or cheese.)Fortunately this worked in our favour as we received food we may not have ordered among more familiar choices but each dish was excellent and so we discovered something new with each course.The house red wine was excellent and went down very easily and came in an unlabelled bottle.I started to panic as I thought a meal of this calibre was going to be a shock to the system when the bill arrived- however it turned out to be extremely good value for money which was the icing on the cake.Excellent Food, friendly service (from the owners anyway) and a warm, professional welcome from the dog (he seems to greet all arrivals and guide them to the restaurant - amazing!)We did actually return bringing a group of 12 on my heartiest recommendations but it turns out they're closed on Saturday lunchtimes. This may just be in the off season but I'd check before going.Also if you can't find it then just keep driving long after you think you must have gone the wrong way- it was well worth it.Wonderful place. Do not hesitate to go - Is give more than 5 stars if I could!

We were directed here by another restaurant nearby in Pessan, which was fully booked.We followed a long winding country road and finally came upon this gem. We were greeted by a small friendly dog, which much enjoyed the attention of my dog-loving son and his fiancee. There was only a single 3-course menu item at lunchtime (it may be different in high season) but it was fine for all of us - but would have been a problem for a vegetarian.The food was excellent in quality, preparation and quantity, at a very reasonable cost. Including wine and coffee, we paid about €20 per head.The older members of staff (the owners, probably) were very friendly and efficient, but a young waitress was obviously new to the job.The terrace was shady and cool and overlooked the main street, but this is a little country town, so it was not busy at all. When one car drove by, the dog ran to the road and barked for the first and only time; I can only assume the driver had left a bad review on TripAdviser!This Auberge is to be really recommended for a real taste of rural France at its best.

J'ai dîné dans cet endroit dans le cadre d'un repas entre amis. Cet endroit est un incontournable du coin pour sa cuisine par contre côté accueil et service on repassera... pas de bonjour ni d'au revoir du cuistot et la serveuse et patronne qui nous fait la morale. Nous avons cependant bien mangé comme à chaque fois... pour une note salée 320€ à 6, on peut s'attendre à un accueil un peu plus chaleureux....

Lieu magnifique, accueil et service convivial, bonne musique et excellente cuisine gourmande de l'entrée au dessert. On y retournera!Vivement conseillé!

Repas menu du jour pour le déjeuner, bon rapport qualité prix mais sans plusPar contre l acceuil est inexistant et vraiment froid
