Auberge du Viaur - Reserva de mesa

This hotel, bar and restaurant is one of my favourite locals. Before buying my house in France I stayed here on a number of occasions using it as my base for house hunting. The husband and wife hosts are charming and made for the hospitality business. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Over the past ten years they have had some hit and miss chefs, but if the lady of the house is cooking, the food is simply superb. She makes tasty, hearty soups and leaves the tureen on the table for you to help yourself. Steaks are awesome here, salads are great too, but all of the local specialities are offered as well. charming establishment on the edge of the viaur.When you go home, you travel in time. I like this simplicity, this kindness, this welcome.The menu is unique and homemade.Pattain, gizzle salad, chicken mustard sauce and gratin, cheese tray and dessert, all for. 14€. It's not high kitchen, it's simple, but it's my grandma's kitchen. If you like the complex, the wanted, the luxury, it's not here. If you want simplicity, warmth charm, it's the one to go.

We chanced on the restaurant whilst driving in the Viaur valley and region. Well presented and very reasonably priced food. We enjoyed the prix fixe menu which was a delight. The couple who run it provide a very friendly service and the Auberge has a beautiful location right alongside the river and medieval bridge. The Auberge also has four (?) rooms.

We arrived by a happy chance in this charming establishment. A magnificent setting, spacious room with river view. In the evening the patroness prepared a local duck-based menu we enjoyed. Perfectly placed by the Viaur, quiet, peaceful, fresh. Restricted map of local products cooked without chichi. Copious, good. Welcome and smiling service pleasant, nice, peaceful. Perfect for a break during the holidays. Or just qq ice balls

hotel located in the gorges of the Viaur.... beautiful place by the perfect water for people who love quiet randos and fishing owners are helpful and attentive and even if they no longer make restaurant they offer us a meal in the evening

jacky/ isabelle hdf. we have spent a pleasant stay, the place to rest and make the void, the calm, the sun, the friendliness of mr and mme capple, the ease to bring the guests around a table and to speak kitchen(traditional well on).

Too bad this hotel is no longer serving a meal in the evening. At the time, we were eating well. We often stop drinking at the terrace.
