This review is long overdue, since we regularly visit this pretty Auberge, located in the small but beautiful village of Blanzay. You can be assured of a really warm welcome here, with really good, tasty home-cooked food from a varied menu, offering traditional French dishes as well as some of the more familiar English dishes we all know and love. In the cool winter months there is a cosy wood-burning stove to entice you inside, and in the warmer weather, there is an equally lovely terrace outside where you can sit and bask in the sun or cool off in the shade. Whether you are on holiday or you already live in the area, this place is not to be missed! We definitely recommend it!
Went here on a friend's recommendation and were definitely not disaapointed.English- style pub in a small village, facing an attractive green and with a small 'beer garden'. Good food choices on boards (16,50 for menu du jour).We had a variety of starters, entrees and desserts between the group and everything got 'the thumbs up' with very few holes picked by even the pickiest! Decent wine by the carafe. Will definitely be visiting again (for Christmas Menu) and recommending to others.
Whilst staying in the locality in a wet and cold winter spell, we had dinner at the auberge. We were warmly welcomed by Gavin and Lesley, and enjoyed a thoroughly tasty home-cooked meal. There was a warm fire, nice wine and the pleasure of having our dog with us, too. Although at a quiet time of year, we had a really pleasant evening.
We chanced upon the Auberge after Googling for a restaurant that was open on Sunday afternoons (a rarity in these parts!), but were so glad we did! We sat outside in the glorious sunshine, & the food did not disappoint. We will definitely go back, next time we are in the area!

We had lunch here in the way back from the Vallee des Singes. Lovely food served in the shade - it was a really hot day, in the beautiful quiet square by the church. Very friendly hosts, and vegetarian (me) catered for, much appreciated when veggies and an oddity in France!
Having been a little while since our last visit arranged for 9 of us to go for weekday lunch. Some of the party were first timers but as always everyone agreed standard was as good as ever. Excellent 3 course meal for 16.50€. Will be back again soon.

Excellent meal every time, great ambiance and warm welcome. Highly recommend a trip especially Sunday lunch or the Friday night fish n chips,or moules et frites!
Stumbled on this place randomly. Very welcoming with great staff. Food was tasty and a very good price. Highly recommend if you are in that area, Beautiful
