This is an excellent restaurant tucked away in a village away the main routes which is well worth seeking out. We ate here on several occasions under the former ownership, but this was our first visit to the restaurant under the new owners Céline and Nicolas who are doing an first class job. I had the terroir menu with the most delicious entrecôte Charolais, cooked bleu as ordered. I was astounded I was able to eat the amount of meat - about 350g! - but without an entrée it wasn't hard. The cheese platter was comprehensive although a goat cheese was the only local cheese and the dessert was a magnificent warm soufflé with mirabelles. My wife much enjoyed her aubergines entrée. Her canard was...

It was our wedding anniversary today and for a special meal we went to the Auberge Larochette. I wish we had known about this restaurant before. It was lovely sitting on the terrace in the shade of the acacia trees. I admired buttling skills of the waiter who treated us like royalty. We had the repas du jour, Each course was tasty and beautifully presented. Everything was homemade. We were given gougères and paté before we had even ordered. The terrine en croute was a meal in itself, the boeuf bourguignon was the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and the strawberry tart was a work of art and served with icecream and crème anglaise. The bread rolls were still warm from the oven. We even had...

We were staying overnight in a local Bed and Breakfast place in Majard and the owner booked a table for us in this restaurant. Oh my goodness what a fantastic meal. It was the best meal we had had in France in our 3 weeks travelling around (and we had lots good ones). Unfortunately we were the only people in the restaurant, not sure why although it was mid-week. They had lit a fantastic fire and pulled our table up close as it had turned chilly. My husband had snails to start and then ray, I had the veal and we both had fabulous desserts plus little chef's tasters. We were amazed at the final price, it was so reasonable for such high quality and the maitre D' was top class. Could not praise...

We have eaten at this restaurant several times before but this was our first visit under new management. It was pleasant to be given a warm welcome by the same waiter as before, who has always given good service. Nice to eat out on the terrace in the autumn sunshine. We opted for the menu de jour and were not disappointed. Wonderful pate en croute with tomato chutney and salad to start, delicious boeuf Bourgogne with vegetables and warm, crusty granary bread rolls, fabulous strawberry tart with ice cream. Gourmet food at a reasonable 18€. Oh, little amuse bouches and cakes before and after too. The only downside for us was lack of a house wine. Even so, we will definitely be back soon! We discovered this restaurant during a Green Michelin Guide route. The restaurant wasn't mentioned in the Green Guide, but it definitely should be, if not in the green guide then definitely in the Red Guide as well as Gault&Millau. Our experience was excellent both on food, service and friendliness of the staff. This is the perfect example of a family-owned and run restaurant, where through their attention to detail, their professional skills and the Love for what the do, they manage to convey perfection in taste and feeling.Thank you so much, Monsieur et Madame Guillaume for adding this ray of sunshine to our summer holidays.

We celebrated my friend's birthday at Larochette and the whole evening was perfect. The service was very charming and attentive. Foie gras for starters with mirabelles and Sangria sauce was a treat. Then on to filet of Charolais beef which was just right and super tender. Dessert a rasperry soufflet which was one of the best desserts I ever had. We came again two days later and it was still great food. Enjoy!

We have been to this restaurant many times over the last 30 years and it has changed proprietors now and again. Since Nicolas Guillaume took over it has made a leap forward. The menu is inspired while staying with its roots in Burgundy, and that is true for entrees, mains and desserts. The welcome is always friendly and Jean Michel knows his wines! We will be back!

Fine dining without being over the top ; varied menu, using local produce, with dishes worthy of a starred restaurant. The staff are friendly and helpful. Not too big and lovely décor. Really worth the visit – you won’t be disappointed ! Reserva una mesa ahora
