We were four persons, and we had a double room each. We...hiked from Limone in Italy, to Casterino where this hotel is located. We got delayed and probably took a wrong turn somewhere, as it got very late, and we were a bit lost. We crossed over the top of the mountains, and crossed the border to France in the evening, around and when we were unsure where to go, we called the hotel. The welcome is very nice. An aperitif on the terrace has been proposed to enjoy the sun!the scented savoyard is very good, even if the royal version taken for 3 people offers only a very sumptuous cutlery tray, for an extra charge of 8€/persons compared to the version without cold cutters. The white wine recommended by the waitress is excellent, even if a little expensive (27€the bottle).The heated room in the stove is very pleasant after a snowshoe or cross-country ski ride.
The accidents were reported by the case, with a yew on the monte argentere slept at 50 km ahead of the goal, and the attack would be the evening before the line. The hotels are able to be spartane conditions, climates in rooms, and in the slope of the insulated unemployment rate. Ogien in the kominku forms an atmosphere of a typical goral chat room.Z istimally, a field for families and for pairs.
We had a fantastic stay at the Auberge Sainte Marie-Madeleine. The room was cosy, and comfortable. Just what we needed after a hard day's playing in the snow. The Owners were very charming and welcoming. Dinner was great. The dog sled tour is definitely recommended....All together it was a great weekend and we will be back! Thanks to all.

Had drinks and only one special, which was OK. Do not expect too much in terms of service: the staff(owners are montagnards and service does not seem to be on their agenda. Place feels good though. Must be great by the fireplace in the middle...of the winter. Look fwd to coming back at wintertime actuially! The rent rooms, homestay type.
we had booked 2 nights for 12 people almost 2 months before our arrival date, we were told less than 1 month before our stay that finally they were wrong, there is no room. and too late so that we can find a replacement solution. They say they have tried several times to reach us on the phone, which is false.Be so distrustful!!!
this inn is frozen in a distant, distant fartaiiiiiin time! But we feel good. fanatic of nature, bike ride, pedal, horse riding or what I know, you have to ride to casterno and stop here. simple meals (sleeping, cheese, pie) and why not sleep (it is better to book) in spartan rooms but good tastes. You won't regret it!
after a long frosty hike was a warmer of pure happiness. the three-course dinner was solid and good. the breakfast is simply from the large-market container, but what should it be warm and rich is enough. the room was simple and need for renovation, in particular the window sealing would be a rewarding investment.

good to open the table (tiramisu with the bergamote, trofied to the ligure). ideally located to demarcate the tower of the forts of the marguareis to vt: casterino / ref don barbera / ref allavena / casterino.
first guests to stay in new pine chalet simple but classy old but modern will stay in the new chalet anytime and can recommend for nature lovers, peaceful and quiet.
