Auberge St Jacques

We got here during our visit through Concques. The place was recommended by the tourist office. We arrived here and the owner said we could choose a table. It was not very busy in the place however people including us we`re told this place was serving food When my partner asked for a menucard the owner started to lecture us about not having enough staff and no food was served at all. Rediculous and after that he got into an massive argument with other french visitors complaining about not serving food. He was told he was an arrogant man and people left immediately. It was very embarassing too! The owner however could not care less about it so it shows he probably makes plenty of money during the season. We will never ever visit this place again and hope a new generation of people with respect will one day buy up the place. If you can avoid this pit.

I will admit that I was dining with a large group with a set menu, so I had low expectations. (Although, this was a groups that I'd traveled with for several days in one notable city, the dinners were amazing, so no one should assert that it was not possible to do well by such a large group). Anyway, even my really low expectations were not met. Poorly prepared white fish and plain white rice is not acceptable as an entree. And the rice wasn't even very good. To top it off, the service was bad the food was kind of flung at us. I ended the evening with fond memories of my high school cafeteria. That has almost never happened.

during our visit, late November, it was the only open restaurant and it was a good surprise. a unique menu excellent homemade for 25 €.
