A group of friends went to this restaurant today for the first time. Upon entering we were immediately greeted by staff and shown to a table. Drinks were offered and while we perused the menu, bread was put on the table. The food was delicious. The appetizers were delicious; we had caprese salad, braised rib ravioli, mussels/clams and fried calamari. We then had prime rib, Chilean sea bass, NY Strip Steak, and salmon We were all pleased with our selection. Then came dessert all yummy. We had lemon sorbet, lemon coconut cake, chocolate mousse, and strawberry shortcake. I cannot tell you what an amazing time we had; we'll def. be back again. It starts with quality of the food prepared and cooked to perfection each and every time, paired with amazing service throughout. The bar is quaint, and to be honest, maybe a little small, but that just adds to the ambience and makes for a great place to start with a drink, or even share apps, or settle in to dine. The white tablecloth settings, friendly servers, and attention to detail make each visit a pleasure. The wine list, although limited, provides nice varietals at a reasonable price. Oh, and the drinks are always top notch. Liz is amazing behind the bar. Excellent martinis and margaritas! My Friday go to place! Cheers!
I have visited this restaurant multiple times and each time I am left in awe, which is probably why I keep forgetting to write a positive review. Well, here it is. I have gotten to know Val and Dave very well and I must say, they are a fantastic addition to the restaurant. Their excellent service and hard work will definitely keep you coming back for more. They go above and beyond to take care of everything, from getting you a drink to ensuring your order is perfect. Trust me, go to Augie’s and ask for Val or Dave – you'll see exactly what I mean.
I really wanted to like this place. Went for a hamburger dinner, 2 couples. I was debating between a 3 and 4 star rating. Because everything was perfect, including great friendly service BUT: all 4 hamburgers were barely look warm. We told them and they took them back, were friendly about it, but when they returned them, they were barely just a little bit warmer, but not hot. How difficult is that?, in a Steak House? If you are looking for a great meal in a beautiful setting and want to splurge definitely recommend Augie's Prime Italian in Mohegan Lake. The original steakhouse has been re branded to celebrate their 15th anniversary and it did not disappoint. From the beginning (Buffalo Mozzarella with Heirloom Tomatoes) to the end (Zeppoles), we were impressed! Homemade pasta, fresh vegetables, jumbo shrimp and an extensive, creative cocktail menu. Excellent!
This is my 4th visit there I must say that the service is outstanding, the portion sizes are perfect the food is delicious. I am not a big beef “fan”, or I would eat there more often. The French Onion soup is the best that I have ever eaten. I am also an Executive chef.
